Great Yellow tail talk. I have to admit my only goal on yellow tail is the "Toothy Critters"
I lobe to hear the drag sing at anchor. It also seems to protect the general fishing to bite-offs to have a balloon bait out behind the boat in the action zone.

[...] Joe’s visit also made me reread that article myself which again reminded me what a great life and year I’ve had despite the slow month money-wise and weather-wise we had here in October. You might want to do the same so that you can properly assess your own blessings as the year closes and Christmas approaches. It can be accessed at http://fishmonster.com/reports/fishing-reports/a-serious-dose-of-reality/ [...]

Has anyone actually read this rubbish NOAA puts out? Its very long(400 pgs) and extremely confusing, to the point of being INTENTIONALLY so. They must hope that fisherman will be so overwhelmed that they give up trying to fish anymore. This document aptly illustrates how bloated and dictatorial NOAA has become. Do our politicians and the news media care that these federal beaurocrats are spending millions of U.S. tax dollars to give themselves the job of destroying the livlihood and freedoms of honest people who actually produce something. All the while promoting their hidden agenda of extreme enviromentalism shrouded in JUNK science. Not to mention promoting the importation of JUNK foreign fish. Even the non-fishing general public should be outraged at the insideous nature of the whole predicament we have so quickly found ourselves in. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!

Love this article! It's really cool to take a look at the beautiful Florida Straits is such a schmorgesborg of neat (and random) finds. In much the same way that you can run into unique things on top of the water, being in the water while snorkeling in Key West can bring about some unique finds as well. Maybe you'll find a sunken treasure but more likely you'll find the coolest fish and living coral you've ever seen. Check out http://keywestsnorkelingtours.com/ for more information!

I think a 2nd degree misdemeanor for possession of a short lobster is ridiculous and created by Monroe County as a moneymaker.... Too bad in the end Monroe County will shoot their self in the foot.......Sooner or later folks who dive will avoid going to the Florida Keys for lobstering

It doesn't make sense to me. The recreational fishing for red snapper has all ready been limited to the point it is almost pointless to fish anyway. But let the little Mexico fishing boats fish all they want. I have grown up on South Padre Island and my Dad was a commercial Red Snapper fisherman for over 45 years. Its bad enough they impose all the limits on fishing and shrimping on commercial fisheries so we will be forced to buy from a foreign country. Enough Government enforcement. Lets all get together and put a season on lawmakers!!!

Was going to book a charter boat to go fishing at Port Aransas. Found out the snapper season is closed so we aren't going to go. The tourist industry has to be hurting when the government won't let you go fishing!!
