April 2012 – Jake & Ben Hausch These two brothers have been fishing since they were six months old. They have caught lots of tuna in the 20-25 lb. range but this is their biggest tuna catch thus far at 30.1 lbs. They took turns battling this fish on a 20lb line. The boys rewarded themselves for this catch by eating sushi at the dock for the first time!

March 2012 – James Klein 11 yr. old James caught this sailfish on fly aboard the Gotcha with Capt. Mel Walker and mates Ross Early (left) and Cody Bailey (right). The fish was estimated at 40 lbs. and released after an hour long fight. If not the youngest, he is certainly one of the youngest anglers to complete such a feat. The fish was caught on a Hardy rod, Abel reel and a custom tube fly in a ballyhoo pattern.

February 2012 – Nadia Holcroft Nadia caught this kingfish all by herself on her 6th birthday. Happy Birthday Nadia!

January 2012 – Kate Colebrook Kate came a long way to fish with her family in Key West. She obviously knew what she was doing! Check out her shirt, gotta love a girl with attitude!

December 2011 – Nick Fisher While Nick was visiting he caught several seatrout, jacks, and ladyfish fishing the backcountry in Key Largo.

November 2011 – Eric GartenmyerNine year old Eric, better known as the “Sea Monster” to his friends and family was born and raised in Key West. Here he is doing what he does best. It has been rumored that this guy even has gills!

October 2011 – Rebecca RestrepThis is 9 year old Rebecca’s first hogfish! She caught it while out on a half day trip with Capt. Mike Makowski of Blackfoot Charters. She is pictured here with her good friend, Alice Hector.

September 2011 – Skyler RobinsonEvery summer Skyler comes down to the Florida Keys to fish with his dad, Capt. Chris Robinson. The two of them can be seen most days out on the flats. Skyler is pictured here with one of the many tarpon he caught this summer. Notice how he is holding him in the water. It is important to both Skyler and his dad to release these fish unharmed so they can live to fight another day!

August 2011 – Hunter and Taylor MoonWhile these two are experienced inshore fishermen, this was their first offshore trip. It took a dozen tuna on jigs up to 18 lbs. to wear the boys out. They also caught dolphin up to 20 lbs. and on an evening tarpon trip caught three blacktip sharks, jumped two 40 lb. class tarpon and caught onein the 125 lb. class range on 20 lb spin outfit which took an hour for both boys to effect the catch and release. They just couldn’t get enough!!!

July 2011 – Riley11 yr old Riley of Key West caught this nice barracuda. She fought the cuda for 25 minutes and brought him to the dock with no help on 15 lb. test mono. This is the biggest fish she has caught as of yet, she was so excited her knees were literally knocking! After a picture the barracuda was released unharmed.

June 2011 – Kattlyn SteeleThis is Kattlyn with her first shark. A 4lb. bonnethead shark caught while she was out fishing for seatrout in Key Largo with her family and Capt. Mike Makowski of Blackfoot Charters.

May 2011 – Jonathan Levin 13 year old Jonathan pictured here with his dad Charlie Levin at Captain Hook’s in Marathon caught this 10.1 lb. Black Margate on 10# test. Nice Catch!

April 2011 – JC Carlson JC is an excellent fisherman! Here he is with one of many mangrove snappers that he has caught. He already seems to be following in the footsteps of his dad, Capt. Jack Carlson of Two Conchs Charters.

March 2011 – Marlin Takovich Marlin poses with this nice hard fighting Jack Crevelle. It ate a live pilchard while targeting snook. Marlin releases all his fish that he’s not going to eat.

February 2011 – Jack Johnson Jack and his dad Cary used a speed jig to catch this blackfin in over 400 feet of water. What a fisherman!

January 2011 – Andi Fricke Andi is a 4th grader at Sugarloaf School. She is a great fisherwoman and isn’t afraid to bait her own hook or wrestle sharks when the need arises! Andi put the shark back in the water after her photo shoot.
